Nelspruit area offers a wide variety of Mountain Rivers that are home to some of the best trout waters in the African region. There are numerous private or syndicate freshwater dams housing monster sized Bass, Carp and Sharp tooth Catfish. The Ermelo area offers several Private dams with big Bass and large Carp. The dams need to be reserved in advance for a chance to test your skill at catching the unsuspecting fish in the dams. Bronkhorstspruit dam is situated about 90 kilometers from Johannesburg in the Mpumalanga Province. This beautiful venue offers a Game farm on the one side and a few well equipped resorts on the other bank. This dam is well stocked with big Largemouth (American) Bass, Carp, Sharp Tooth Barbel and it is one of the few dams in South Africa that is home to the freshwater eel.
